Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh, held Farewell on April 18, 2019 to bid goodbye to its final-year students. An enthralling show was arranged for the students from all streams, to participate in and showcase their talents. A cultural extravaganza of Punjabi, Afghani, Manipuri and Western performances was presented by the juniors for their seniors and faculty members.
Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Principal of the College, wished the outgoing students the very best in all walks of life and also reminded them of their responsibilities towards society and nation at large.
 
 

Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh, held Hostel Farewell on April 18, 2019 to bid goodbye to its final-year students. A riveting show was put on by the hostellers wherein they showcased their multifarious talents. A plethora of cultural performances such as Giddha, Bhangra, Manipuri Folk Dance, Classical Dance, Western Dance, etc. was presented by the juniors for their seniors.

Mrs. Harpreet Kaur, Vice Principal of the College, wished the outgoing students success in all their future endeavours.

The 40th Annual Convocation of the College will be held on April 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Compulsory Rehearsal will be held on April 27, 2019 (Saturday) at 09:00 a.m. Parents are cordially invited.

A RUSA-Sponsored Capacity Building Workshop on ‘Google Classroom’ was organized by the College Library of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh on March 20, 2019. Dr Preeti Sharda, Librarian, Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh, the Resource Person for the workshop, provided valuable guidance in the use of the Google Classroom app to the faculty and students of the college.

Google Classroom is a free web-based platform that integrates all Google Apps including Google Docs, Gmail, etc. It is a Course Management System that facilitates teacher-student communication. It provides teachers with a platform where they can create a virtual classroom and share useful study material, give assignments, conduct tests, quizzes and surveys and evaluate the work of students in real time.

The Department of Music of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organized ‘Gurmat Sangeet Samagam’ under the aegis of Sikh Educational Society on March 18, 2019 in Mata Ganga Auditorium to celebrate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The occasion was graced by Zinda Shaheed Singh Saheb Jathedar Sant Baba Nihal Singh Ji, Mukhi, Misal Shaheeda Tarna Dal, Harianvela Wale, who was the Chief Guest and Prof Pankaj Mala Sharma, Former Chairperson and Dean, Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh as the Guest of Honour. S. Gurdev Singh, President, S.E.S and Col. (Retd.) J. S. Bala, Secretary, S.E.S elevated the event with their esteemed presence.

Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Honourable Chief Guest for the occasion. S. Gurdev Singh, President and S. Kulbir Singh, Vice President, Sikh Educational Society also graced the occasion with their presence. The function commenced on an auspicious note with the recital of the College Shabad. The Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur delivered the welcome address and presented the Annual Report of the College, highlighting the achievements of the students in academics, sports and cultural activities.
